G&T Saddles now has two bases, the existing one in Herefordshire, and the East Yorkshire base at Michael’s family farm near Driffield. I am very fortunate to have a fabulous site to base G&T Saddles, with a large all weather arena, extensive parking and covered stabling area to conduct saddle fittings. I have brought with me a good foundation stock of saddles which is continually building, and fortunate to still have access to the extensive stock of saddles in Herefordshire to accommodate the wide customer base in the North East. Michael’s stepmother, Liz Falkingham-Temple has been beyond accommodating in enabling me to set up at the farm and overall been incredibly supportive - thank you!

Also based at Wold Farm in East Yorkshire is Faybeline Raw, www.rawshowjumpig.co.uk BS UKCC Coach and International Showjumper, an exceptionally friendly and helpful individual who has been so very welcoming… lots of fun ahead between the three of us!

Since expanding to East Yorkshire, I have been invited to hold Saddle Fitting CPD days at Bishop Burton College in conjunction with Angela Hall of Equine Massage Academy www.equinemassageacademy.com . These days are designed to provide attendees with a greater understanding of correct saddle fitting and the challenges faced.

This update wouldn’t be complete without mentioning my wonderful little horse Harvey who has of course made the move too! Having backed him in Herefordshire before moving, he is steadily heading in the right direction - or so I keep telling myself, mother, Liz and Michael! We’re enjoying being incredibly fortunate to hack around the farm here which is utterly beautiful, being accompanied by Liz on her super cob Ronnie, or Faye often on her gorgeous young (also golden!) stallion Gala.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss my mother, the team of whippets and our inane chatter; however without having established such a strong base in G&T Saddles I would not have been able to be so well supported to make this step in the next chapter of the business and my life with Michael. The customer base in East Yorkshire is growing steadily as is my confidence this will be a successful venture!
